of copying is the amalgamation of costs involved in copying your particular
pages in your specific environment on your specific copy equipment. It is
calculated over an extended period (generally up to five years).
Essentially an alternative term for Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Cost of copying is a more friendly term with a greater emphasis on the fact that the copied page is a commodity that has a significant cost as well as a significant value. Cost of copying is highly personal and is far more involved that merely dividing the cost of a toner/ink cartridge by the number of pages you expect to achieve from that cartridge. |
